As mentioned, the rear-wheel-drive 2025 Z’s trim choices are the Sport, Performance, and NISMO. The first two get 400 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque out of their twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 while the NISMO is tuned for a bit more: 420 horsepower and 384 lb.-ft. of torque. The NISMO comes only with a nine-speed automatic transmission GT-R-style paddle shifters, but the Sport and Performance also have the no-cost option of a rev-matching six-speed manual gearbox.
According to the EPA’s official fuel economy estimations, the Sport and Performance with the manual return 18 mpg around town and 24 mpg on the highway, which changes to 19 city/28 highway with the automatic. The NISMO achieves 17 city/24 highway.
As the entry-level Z, the Sport gets proximity keyless entry, LED exterior lighting (including double-ring 3D signature taillights), power-adjustable exterior mirrors, cloth upholstery, single-zone automatic climate control, push-button ignition, two USB ports, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a tilt/telescopic steering column, knee pads on the center console, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift knob, and emergency brake handle. Its high-performance summer tires are installed on 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
The Performance is outfitted with components that allow it to live up to its name: a mechanical limited-slip differential, brake calipers by Akebono, large vented disc brakes, chin and rear spoilers, and a launch control feature. The cockpit is set up well with heated power-adjustable (four-way) seats upholstered in leather with faux suede inserts, aluminum-trimmed pedals, and active noise cancellation. Heated side mirrors and 19-inch forged-alloy wheels grace the exterior. At the pinnacle of the Z range, the NISMO takes things further with a uniquely tuned suspension and steering system, specialized aerodynamic elements (a rear spoiler, front and rear fascias, and side sills), Recaro leather-upholstery with Alcantara inserts, enhanced brake rotors, red-painted brake calipers, strategically reinforced body points, Alcantara wrapping for the steering wheel, and a sport-style muffler.
Although the 2025 Z is a performance car, it nevertheless has an array of driver-assist technologies installed: adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, a driver alertness monitor, and parking sensors (front and rear). A rearview monitor is also standard, as are stability and traction control, a set of airbags, and hill start assist.
The Sport gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the Performance and NISMO move up to a 9-inch touchscreen. Both platforms have smartphone integration (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and hands-free text messaging. The Performance and NISMO upgrade to wireless Apple CarPlay and also get navigation and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and NissanConnect services. The Sport has an unbranded audio system with six speakers, while the others get a Bose upgrade with eight speakers.
