The 2025 Pathfinder is a three-row midsized crossover offered in five trim packages: S, SV, SL, Rock Creek, and Platinum. Their powertrain unites a 3.5-liter V6 engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission. This engine generates 294 hp and 259 lb.-ft. of torque in the S, SV, SL, and Platinum trims, while the Rock Creek elicits a slightly enhanced output of 295 hp and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard for most trims, but four-wheel drive (4WD) comes standard in the Rock Creek and is optional for the others.
The Pathfinder’s standard towing capacity is 3,500 pounds, but this increases to 6,000 pounds for the Rock Creek and Platinum. If the SV and SL are ordered with their respective Premium packages, they’ll also reach the 6,000-lb. towing max. Fuel economy varies by drivetrain and trim. Pathfinders with FWD achieve EPA-estimated ratings of 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, while 4WD versions are rated to return 21 mpg city/27 mpg highway. With the Rock Creek, you’ll get 20 mpg city/23 mpg highway.
The base S is the most no-nonsense version of the Pathfinder, getting cloth upholstery, LED headlights Nissan Intelligent Key (proximity keyless entry), push-button ignition, manually adjustable front seats, 60/40-split folding second- and third-row seatbacks, a 7-inch multi-function LCD instrument cluster, four USB ports, and a 12V power outlet. The SV gets heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a power liftgate, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated side-view mirrors with built-in turn-signal indicators. Opting for the SV Premium Package will add a panoramic moonroof with a power sunshade and second-row captain’s chairs, reducing seating capacity to seven.
The SL builds on that equipment list with leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, and an additional USB port and 12V outlet. The optional SL Premium Package consists of the panoramic moonroof, second-row captain’s chairs, and heated rear seats; LED fog lights are available separately. The Rock Creek is tailored for off-road enthusiasts, combining the SV’s features with unique additions like cloth-and-leatherette upholstery, all-terrain tires, standard second-row captain’s chairs, and LED fog lights.
The top-of-the-line Platinum mirrors the SL but provides a more luxurious experience with semi-aniline leather upholstery, position memory for the driver’s seat, heated rear seats, a panoramic moonroof, a 12.3-inch multi-functional digital instrument cluster, a 120V power outlet, additional USB ports (for a total of six), rain-sensing windshield wipers, and power-folding side-view mirrors. This trim can be upgraded with LED fog lights, second-row captain’s chairs, and exterior running boards.
The 2025 Pathfinder comes with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of driver-assist technologies, which includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, reverse automatic braking, automatic high beams, blind-spot warning, lane departure warning, intelligent driver alertness, and rear parking sensors. The SV adds intelligent blind-spot intervention, intelligent lane intervention, and ProPilot Assist 1.0 with active lane centering. The SL and Platinum enhance safety further with the addition of traffic sign recognition, front parking sensors, Nissan’s Intelligent Around View Monitor, and upgraded ProPilot Assist with Navi-link. The Rock Creek starts with the same safety array as the SV but adds an HD Intelligent Around View Monitor with a special off-road mode. An in-cabin camera system is optional for both the SL and the Platinum.
The cutting-edge NissanConnect infotainment system is the central feature for keeping everyone connected in the Pathfinder. The default version gets an 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, voice recognition, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, and a six-speaker audio system. All but the S also get a Wi-Fi hotspot. The SL and Platinum upgrade to a 9-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation; the Platinum also moves up to a top-quality 13-speaker Bose audio system (it’s available for the SL via the SL Premium Package).
