Trims, Powertrain, and Performance

S, SV, SR, and SL are the available trim packages for the 2025 Altima. Their powertrain pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine (188 horsepower and 180 lb.-ft. of torque) with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). As mentioned, all-wheel drive is an optional upgrade from the standard front-wheel drivetrain; all trims except for the base S are eligible. According to the EPA’s official fuel economy estimations, the S and SV achieve 27 mpg in city driving and 39 mpg on the highway with FWD; the SV with AWD returns 25 city/34 highway. With FWD, the SR and SL will give you 27 mpg city/37 mpg highway, dipping to 25 city/34 highway with AWD.

Standard and Available Amenities

The entry-level S keeps things relatively no-nonsense with fabric upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, and a pair of USB ports, while adding convenience with proximity keyless entry, remote start (via the key fob), push-button ignition, a 60/40-split folding rear seatback, and LED headlights. The SV adds a second pair of USB ports and a power driver’s seat. It’s also eligible for the SV Premium Package (a moonroof, heated front seats, wireless phone charge pad, a steering wheel wrapped in faux leather, and smartphone-enabled remote start).

The SR gets the faux leather-wrapped steering wheel along with sport cloth upholstery. Its buyers can add the SR Premium Package to get everything mentioned in the SV Premium Package (minus the leatherette-wrapped steering wheel, which is standard). The SL presents the most luxurious standard equipment, with leather seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote start with climate control settings, exterior mirrors with integrated turn indicators, and the remaining contents of the SR Premium Package.

Advanced Safety Features

Nissan Safety Shield 360, a full suite of driver-assist technologies, is standard on every ’25 Altima. Its contents are forward collision warning, automatic high beams, driver attention alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, parking sensors (rear), reverse automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane departure warning. The SV with the Premium Package added gets ProPILOT Assist active lane centering/freeway cruise control support, adaptive cruise control, and active lane-keeping assist. Consider the SL fully loaded, as it’s the only trim to receive ProPILOT Assist Hands On (full-speed range adaptive cruise control), Nissan’s Intelligent Around-View Monitor, traffic sign recognition, and intelligent lane intervention.

Staying Connected and Entertained

The base infotainment system in the 2025 Altima has an 8-inch touchscreen; a 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard on the SL and optional on the SV and SR through their respective Premium Package. Every trim has Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth for hands-free phone use and audio streaming. Navigation, voice recognition, and SiriusXM satellite radio are also standard on the SL and optional on the SV and SR. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a prime-quality Bose sound system with nine speakers come exclusively on the SL.
