The 2024 Nissan Rogue is a five-passenger compact crossover made in four well-outfitted trims: S, SV, SL, and Platinum. Underneath the hood sits a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 201 hp and 225 lb.-ft. of torque. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) completes the powertrain; front-wheel drive is the default, with all-wheel drive an option.
The model’s fuel economy ratings as determined by the EPA are outstanding. With FWD, the S and SV are estimated to return 30 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway, while the FWD SL and Platinum should return a consistent 29 city/36 highway. The AWD versions of the S and SV achieve 28 city/35 highway (28 city/34 highway for the AWD SL and Platinum).
The S is a solid entry-level trim supplying key features like cloth upholstery, remote keyless entry, push-button ignition, two USB ports, a 60/40-split folding rear seatback, LED headlights, and 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Things take a more lavish turn with the SV, which adds remote start, proximity keyless entry, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated side mirrors, and another set of USB ports. With the available SV Premium Package, this trim will gain synthetic-leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, a dual-pane moonroof, and power sunshades.
The SL gets the heated front seats and heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, along with leather upholstery, wireless phone charging, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and side mirrors with turn indicators. The SL Premium Package bundles the dual-pane moonroof and power sunshades from the SV Premium Package, plus position memory for the driver’s seat and proximity cargo access. The Platinum inherits the position memory driver’s seat, moonroof, and power sunshades, but its most lush addition is quilted leather upholstery. Buyers can add the Platinum Premium Package to get proximity cargo access and heated rear seats. All trims are eligible for a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror and a HomeLink universal home remote, while remote-activated welcome lighting is available exclusively on the SL and Platinum.
The Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite is standard in the ’24 Rogue, bolstering each trim with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automatic braking, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, driver attention alert, and rear parking sensors. All but the base trim get blind-spot intervention and intelligent lane intervention. The SV adds ProPILOT Assist adaptive cruise control with steering assist, which is upgraded to ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link (which can change speed according to the size of upcoming curves and even detect speed limit changes) in the SL and Platinum. Those top two trims also receive a surround-view camera, front parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition.
The S and SV get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, voice recognition, and Bluetooth hands-free connectivity. The SV and above get an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot. The SL and Platinum move up to a new Google built-in interface that includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The audio situation is trim-dependent as well, with the S supporting a basic four-speaker system while the SV and SL have six speakers. The upscale Platinum gets the royal treatment with a 10-speaker Bose unit.
