Nissan presents a trio of choices for Kicks buyers: the S, SV, and SR. Their power source is an efficient 122-horsepower four-cylinder engine that forms the powertrain with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). All trims are front-wheel drive. Nissan adds active ride control, intelligent engine brake, and intelligent trace control for smoother cruising, and automatic brake hold keeps the brakes remain engaged while the vehicle is stopped without needing your foot on the brake. Across the board, the Kicks boasts an EPA-estimated 31 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.
The S trim has remote keyless entry, push-button ignition, cloth upholstery, a 6-way manual driver’s seat, a 4-way manual passenger’s seat, power windows with one-touch auto-up/down, three USB ports, a 12-volt DC power outlet, two cup holders, four bottle holders, a second-row 60/40-split fold-down seat, four cargo tie-down hooks, automatic on-off headlights, power outside mirrors, a chrome grille, and 16-inch steel wheels with covers. The SV adds a 7-inch driver information display, a center console armrest with storage, another USB port, the Intelligent Key system, heated outside mirrors, silver roof rails, and 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
The SR shows off unique style with sport-cloth seats with orange accents and stitching, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic temperature control, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights, a dark chrome grille, high-gloss black mirrors with integrated LED turn-signal indicators, silver exterior door trim, and black roof rails. The optional SR Premium Package will add heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a vehicle security system, Prima-Tex-appointed seat trim with orange accents and stitching, a cargo cover, and an upgraded stereo system (see the Infotainment and Connectivity section for details).
All Kicks trims are set up with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of driver-assist technologies that includes rear automatic braking, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, high beam assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. The SV and SR also get adaptive cruise control and driver attention monitoring; the SR alone adds Nissan’s around-view monitor for a 360-degree look at the Kicks’ surroundings.
The budget-friendly Kicks S has a 7-inch color touchscreen infotainment, Bluetooth, Android Auto compatibility, Apple CarPlay integration, Siri Eyes Free, and a 6-speaker sound system. A Wi-Fi hotspot and SiriusXM satellite radio join the array on the two higher trims. The optional SR Premium Package will add convenience features (details are in the Standard Features section) and a premium Bose sound system with eight speakers, including UltraNearfield speakers in the driver’s headrest.
