Five trims make up the ’23 Rogue: S, SV, Midnight Edition, SL, and Platinum. They each come with a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 201 hp and 225 lb.-ft. of torque: it pairs with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). While front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available, and with FWD, the ’23 Rogue pulls off an EPA-estimated 30 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. With AWD, it gets 28 city/35 highway.
The base S comes with LED headlights and daytime running lights, rear privacy glass, remote keyless entry, push-button start, a 12-volt power outlet, a USB-A and a USB-C port, and a 60/40-split folding rear seat. The SV gets some nicer features such as heated side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, dual-zone automatic climate control, another pair of USB ports, Nissan Intelligent Key (proximity entry), remote start, illuminated vanity mirrors, and a power driver’s seat. The all-black Midnight Edition is equipped with a power liftgate, a dual-panel panoramic moonroof, rear window sunshades, synthetic leather seats, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated front seats.
The SL doesn’t have the Midnight Edition’s black characteristics, but it does have its other amenities (minus the rear window sunshades). What’s more, the SL has reverse gear tilt-down exterior mirrors, rooftop rails, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, an extra 12-volt power outlet, a power front passenger’s seat, position memory settings (for the driver’s seat and side mirrors), leather upholstery, and a cargo area organizer. The Platinum is the most compelling of the bunch since it gets the rear windows sunshades, a hands-free liftgate, interior accent lighting, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a wireless phone charger, remote-folding rear seats, and quilted semi-aniline leather upholstery.
Nissan is all about passenger safety and the latest technology, which is why they’ve supplied their ’23 Rogue with the Safety Shield 360 bundle of advanced driving aids. The S has intelligent forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, reverse automatic braking, automatic high beams, and Intelligent Driver Alertness. The SV and Midnight Edition add ProPilot assist adaptive cruise control, intelligent lane intervention, and intelligent blind-spot intervention, while the SL comes with the Intelligent Around-View Monitor. The Platinum gains ProPilot Assist with Navi-link (includes sophisticated road-mapping software to warn the driver of potential obstacles ahead), front and side parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition.
Another strong point of the ’23 Rogue is its infotainment systems. The S has the basic version, an 8-inch touchscreen with voice recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, a four-speaker sound system, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The SV, Midnight Edition, and SL also get NissanConnect remote vehicle services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and two additional speakers. At the top of the heap, the Platinum gets all of the upgrades: a 9-inch touchscreen, integrated navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM Travel Link, Amazon Alexa, and a premium Bose audio system.
Three packages are available for the ’23 Rogue. The SV Premium Package includes heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, rear sunshades, synthetic-leather upholstery, roof rails, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power liftgate, and a dual-panel panoramic moonroof. The SL Premium Package contains the rear sunshades along with a hands-free liftgate, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and tri-zone automatic climate control while also upgrading the infotainment setup with a 9-inch touchscreen, navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, SiriusXM Travel Link, and a Bose audio system. The package also builds up the driver-assist tech by adding ProPilot Assist with Navi-link, front and side parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition. The Platinum Premium Package contains tri-zone automatic climate control, a head-up display, and heated rear seats.
