2021 Nissan Armada for Sale in Warwick, RI
This is a special year for Nissan, as the automaker is introducing five redesigned models for 2021. The largest of those is the all-new Armada, a three-row SUV that boasts the highest standard horsepower in its class – and becomes the first to display Nissan’s refreshed logo. The Armada is a true SUV, with its tough body-on-frame-construction and available four-wheel drive. The 2021 edition has a more chiseled front end with slick LED headlights and front and rear bumpers with a fresh design. Inside, the center stack and gauge cluster have been redone, and the infotainment system has a larger (12.3-inch) touchscreen (now with standard wireless Apple CarPlay). Nissan has also increased the slate of standard active safety features across all trim levels. The V8 powerplant has been enhanced too, to produce 10 more horsepower and 19 more lb.-ft. of torque. The Midnight Edition trim level, marked by blacked-out exterior and interior trim, also makes its debut.
Trims and Capabilities
The ’21 Armada is available in SV, SL, Midnight Edition, and Platinum trim levels. Under the hood, there’s a hefty 5.6-liter V8 that produces best-in-class standard 400 hp (413 lb.-ft. of torque). A seven-speed automatic transmission handles the gear changes; rear-wheel drive is standard, but most buyers will opt for the available 4WD. The ’21 Armada is highly capable, too, as it can tow a class-leading 8,500 pounds. All trims get a trailer brake controller, a tow hitch receiver, and trailer sway control.
Standard and Optional Features
The SV’s standard equipment includes automatic LED headlights, 18-inch wheels, power-folding heated side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, rear privacy glass, roof rails, keyless entry and ignition, a rearview camera, a 7-inch Advanced Drive-Assist Display, integrated navigation, NissanConnect remote services, an on-board Wi-Fi hotspot, dual-zone automatic climate control, a wireless smartphone charger, a leather-wrapped power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, three 12-volt power outlets, four USB ports, power-adjustable heated front seats, a second-row 60/40 split fold-down bench seat with tip-up easy entry for the third row (the bench seat allows for eight-passenger seating), rear-seat air conditioning, a third-row 60/40 split fold-down bench seat, and faux-leather upholstery. The SV Appearance Package will supply 20-inch wheels, LED fog lights, a HomeLink universal transceiver, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a power liftgate.
The SL includes those optional features as standard, along with auto-dimming side mirrors with puddle lights and memory functions, a moonroof, remote start, memory functions for the driver’s seat and steering wheel, genuine leather upholstery and door trim, and wood-tone interior accents. The new Midnight Edition swaps out the wood trim for black exterior and interior accents and adds second-row fold-down captain’s chairs with a padded center console (reducing seating capacity to seven). The Platinum loses the Midnight Edition’s stylish black accents and captain’s chairs, but the chairs can be added back as an option. This loaded trim also receives 22-inch wheels, chrome exterior trim, a windshield wiper de-icer, rain-sensing wipers, climate-controlled front seats, quilted leather upholstery, five USB ports, a heated steering wheel with contrast stitching, and heated second-row seats.
Safety and Technology
Every trim has the Nissan Safety Shield 360 bundle of driver-assist technologies. This includes adaptive cruise control, a driver alertness monitor, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear sonar, rear automatic braking, and automatic high beams. The SL and Midnight Edition add a surround-view camera system. The Platinum gets backup intervention, an intelligent rearview mirror that shows a clearer image of what’s going on behind the vehicle, and traffic sign recognition.
The base infotainment system in the SV has a 12.3-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, HD radio, satellite radio, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, and a six-speaker sound system. The SL and Midnight Edition upgrade to a premium 13-speaker Bose audio system, and the Platinum gets a tri-zone DVD entertainment system with two 8-inch monitors and remote control.
