Trims and Mechanical Features

The 2019 Sentra is available in six trim levels: S, SV, SR, SR Turbo, Nismo, and SL. The S, SV, SR, and SL trims have a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that produces 124 horsepower and 125 lb.-ft. of torque; the S comes standard with a manual transmission, while the other three trims come with a continuously variable transmission. The SR Turbo and Nismo upgrade to a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 188 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft. of torque; it is coupled with either a six-speed manual transmission or specially calibrated CVT with manual-shift mode. The 1.8-liter engine delivers an EPA-estimated 27 mpg city and 35 mpg highway, while the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine follows closely with an EPA-estimated 25 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.

The entry-model S trim is equipped with 16-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, a 7-inch central touchscreen, a rearview camera, a USB port, and a four-speaker sound system. The SV gets alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and a six-speaker audio system with satellite radio. The SR receives adaptive cruise control, heated mirrors, LED headlights, and fog lights. The SR Turbo adds a sport-tuned suspension, enhanced steering, a sunroof, and upgraded front brakes. Next, the Nismo includes a spoiler, 18-inch wheels, and specialized Nismo interior package, plus an eight-speaker Bose stereo system. At the top, the SL features heated front seats and mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.

Safety & Technology

This impressive sedan received great scores from government-issued collision tests. All Sentra trims are built with Nissan’s advanced air bag system with dual-stage supplemental front airbags, driver and front-passenger seat-mounted side-impact airbags, roof-mounted curtain side-impact airbags with a rollover sensor, an energy-absorbing steering column, steel side-door guard beams, and automatic emergency braking. The SL also includes a blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert.

The Sentra includes many of the technological features you would expect from a 2019 vehicle. The base S includes an easy-to-use touch-screen display and Bluetooth system that allows you to make phone calls, send text messages, and control your music completely hands-free. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are standard on the SV and higher trims, allow you to stay connected with ease. On the Nismo trim, the Bose premium audio system with eight speakers and dual woofers delivers the top-tier sound quality that Bose is known for.
