The all-new three-row 2019 Nissan Pathfinder is here to take your adventures to the next level, with more standard features and a towing capacity as high as 6,000 pounds. This model year adds innovative technology and improved performance with an ample number of customizable features to truly personalize your road trips as well as your daily driving.
Trims & Mechanical Features
There are four trim levels (S, SV, SL, and Platinum) that come standard with front-wheel drive, with four-wheel drive available. All trims are equipped with a 3.5-liter direct injection V6 engine that delivers 284 horsepower and 259 lb.-ft. of torque. Nissan’s XTRONIC continuously variable transmission, which comes standard on all Pathfinder models, provides a smoother ride with better fuel economy than conventional transmissions. The 2WD models feature an EPA-rated 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, while the 4WD models trail closely with an EPA rated 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
The base S offers a good slate of standard features, including tri-zone automatic climate control, and an infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen. The SV adds fog lights, remote start, and dynamic cruise control; this trim also offers a Rock Creek Edition with trim-specific leather seating, badging, and interior accents. The SL ramps up the luxuries with power heated exterior mirrors, a surround-view monitor, and heated front seats. At the top of the heap, the Platinum spoils its owner with a premium Bose audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, a dual-panel panoramic moonroof, and a tow-hitch receiver.
Safety & Technology
Nissan includes more advanced safety features than previously to keep the Pathfinder’s occupants safer than ever before. The active safety features found on all trims include a backup camera and automatic emergency braking, but more crash-mitigating technology is added as the trim level rises. For instance, just one level up from the base, the SV receives intelligent cruise control, a blind spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert. Nissan’s advanced airbag system with dual-stage supplemental front airbags, driver and front passenger seat-mounted side-impact supplemental airbags, and roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental airbags are standard on every trim to ensure excellent protection in case of a collision. Other standard safety features on all Pathfinder models include Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control System, Automatic Emergency Braking, and adjustable head restraints in all three rows of seats. Additional safety features such as Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are available in all trims except the S.
This year’s Pathfinder makes it easier to stay connected than ever. NissanConnect provides hands-free ability to make calls, send text messages, and even choose music all while on the go. All models also come standard with an 8-inch touch-screen display, six USB ports, and illuminated steering wheel-mounted audio controls among other features. The S, SV, and SL trims are equipped with a six-speaker audio system, while the Platinum model features an upgraded Bose Premium Audio System with 13 speakers, including Acoustic Waveguide Technology. The S and SV trims come standard with a rearview monitor and the SL and Platinum trims experience the safety-enhancing Intelligent Around View Monitor.
